15 Tile Puzzle Arduino

The mini game console project`s first stage of development is nearly complete. What come next is an educational demo version with simplified code base.

Finally, the project is nearing its presentable form with a handy controller like design and a joystick. The only thing left to do is to fork the source code for an educational version. I do not think the full code with all the complexity is right for that purpose. The original code is unnecessarily complicated for an educational set. After all there must be a difference between what is used for education and one made for sale. Both must have distinct features for a customer to choose from. I am planning to release two variations and see what works best. My expectations are mixed and I expect multiple outcomes out of this project an utter failure to be among them.

I have planned a few strategies. Blog posts in multiple languages, playgroung presentations, science circles for juniors and also taking part in exhibitions. I am thinking of doing anything that works to present my work and get feedback. By the way, this mini game console is not the only project I am working on. iGXR is another exciting project you can check on this site as well. iGZR is a programmable car that takes full advantage of a single Arduino Nano board. It`s code base is too complicated to present for education, but it is still possible to release DIY kit, I guess.

What has been done so far

The mini game console has got a controller like shape for a single hand operation. It now only has 2 buttons and a joystick. I am thinking of reducing the number of buttons to one in the final version. It is also using an action camera battery and has a slot. I carved out a hole for the battery slot, as it was not planned before I printed the part. That looks ugly, needless to say. Sometimes I think of video recording the process, but I don`t think they will be visually pleasing at all. That is what always happens: you print a part and more ideas come after trying to assemble the real thing. It is kind of a waste, so I try to fix the part as much as I can melting and cutting the plastic to accomodate the internal pats as nicely as possible. It works. If you keep trying everything will work. Perseverance is the key to success. That is a lesson I learned for last 30 years of my life. I regret not trying harder though. Consistency and sticking to tested principles and strategies that work is important.

Next, I will present the shaved down version of 15 Tile Puzzle Game Console.

This was the commitment and I hope to see you in a few days.

May God excel me in my most human-like endevour: making useful things
